A Child Passenger Safety Technician can answer questions and check your child's car seat to help protect them in the event of a motor vehicle crash.
What Happens at a Car Seat Safety Check?
A Child Passenger Safety Technician will check your child's car seat at no cost for defects, recalls, fit for the age and size of the child, and fit in the vehicle. Please allow 30 minutes for each seat to be checked.
How Do I Get An Appointment?
- Benton County residents can call the Public Health Department at 320-968-5331
- Residents of other counties can call the Sartell Fire Department at 320-251-7393
Reduced-Cost Car Seats
- Families with lower incomes can get car seats at a reduced price. Call to learn about the income guidelines. If you are on WIC or your child has Medical Assistance, you automatically qualify.
- You must live in Benton County.
- Attend a free 60-minute class to learn how to use and install your car seat safely.
- Some families with specific state health insurance plans may be able to get a car seat for free.
