Information Technology

Purpose

The Department of Information Technology provides leadership, governance, architecture, technical resources, and expertise in the deployment of modern information technologies to improve government efficiency, effectiveness, and promote innovation. It is also responsible for establishing technology architecture, implementing and managing systems, applications, communications, and the overall management and security of the County’s technology assets. 

Primary Functions

Primary Functions of the Information Technology department are:

  • Provide an efficient and redundant Technology Infrastructure
  • Disaster Recovery and Continuity Planning and Execution
  • Data Backups
  • Email encryption and hygiene systems
  • Hardware, Software and Licensing procurement and tracking
  • Maintain County Website and Intranet
  • Procure, install and support County computer systems
  • Provide support for County employees and departments
  • Network and Systems Security
  • VoIP Telecommunications Systems
  • Administer County IT Initiatives and Large Scale Projects
  • Assist County Departments with cooperative ventures and integration
  • Deliver and support mobile services and technology for county staff
